About Us
Taxi Tours Scotland was started in 2025 to expand our local business in Levenmouth Fife. After 38 years of trading and running over 12 vehicles, with 4, 6, and 10 seats for passengers, it seemed the logical way forward.
We already do a lot of airport runs. We know all of the major tourist attractions and attractions that are not on tour guides.
Not everyone who goes to St Andrews does so for golf. Just the majority and Fife is packed with challenging golf courses. Some are not well known. Obviously, the home of golf is known by every golfer heading to Scotland.
We sat down and thought what tours can we offer, and at 14, we had filled up our new business card. It can be golf tours, whisky tours, historical tours, castle tours, beach tours, scenic tours, and sea life tours etc. The list is not infinite, but it really is what tour do you want. That's the most important thing for us. We can do anything you want within the law. We don't mind mixing it up. We actually don't mind you going off on a tangent. We get it daily anyway.
We want you to have a good time. We want you to see real Scotland.
Whatever any other tour company is offering, we do it and more.
Whatever you want to see, except the lochness monster, we can pretty much do. Pretty much every tour company does the same. We offer more because of our local knowledge. After you have been in the car for 30 minutes, we will have got a really good understanding of what will make your tour more memorable and we will suggest it. My advice, is listen to the driver. If it's just A to B and back to A. The driver will do that. If it's A to B and you would like a better experience. Then off we go. We might not get passed G, because it's too late but if you want, we will do all the letters in the alphabet.
We are completely flexible.
All of our vehicles are maintained to a very high standard. All the drivers are registered. You will only get pleasant professional drivers.
They all want to make your day memorable.
Driver satisfaction and consumer satisfaction are closely joined.
I don't believe you could phase us.
The Baring Straight makes it difficult to drive you home to the US. Also it means swapping out vehicles and driving across a frozen ocean. We would be uncomfortable about that. Although it might be exciting. The odds of everything going right is low and we are safety first.
We would go as far as was safety possible but I think it's best to forget that and stick to Scotland and Fife is where we are located. If you want excitement we will find it for you. If you just want a leisurely, enjoyable and safe journey. You should book us. Just tell us what you want to do and we will organise your plan, collect you from the airport and probably first day, drop you off at your hotel. You may well be jet lagged, if not fine.
As I stated before, there are beautiful scenic views, not on tour guides because they don't know where they are. There are historical places never visited.
There are fabulous restaurants hidden away full of locals.
I suppose we bring the known and the unknown knowledge within us, we would be delighted to share with you.
"It's all about you".
Hope you choose us.
We don't add tax to your bill. The price we quote is for the driving and if you want pre bookings for tours, we can do it but you need to let us know.
The more information you give, makes your time more memorable and gives us a better estimate of time it takes. If it's not feasible in a day. We will let you know and do as much as we can.
That's maybe around G.
Taxi Tours Scotland collects many customers from the two main airports in Scotland being
Edinburgh Airport and
Glasgow Airport.
We also collect clients from
Dundee Airport,
Aberdeen Airport,
Inverness Airport.
We collect customers from English airports such as
Newcastle Airport,
Manchester Airport,
Birmingham Airport and
Heathrow Airport.
Most customers arrive at Edinburgh or Glasgow Airports.
There are a few flights coming into Newcastle and Manchester Airports.
If we are collecting at Heathrow Airport, it's generally because the airport has been shut down because of bad weather and our customers, either don't want to stay a night in a hotel near to the airport if they can get a room or to their accomodation in Scotland. It's far less expensive, than jumping into a London cab for the same journey.
There are occasions, when the fog is so bad, that customers are definitely going to miss their long haul flights out of London if they wait in Edinburgh Airport or Glasgow Airport.
Sure, they will eventually be offered a room for the night and a flight the next day, if the weather has cleared.
The weather reports are never normally too far off the mark. The trains heading south will be full and even with a first class ticket is no guarantee of a seat and it's a miserable 4 or 5 hours plus hours to London. Then there is getting to Heathrow on top.
Our sole aim is either to collect our customers or rescue them and deliver to their hotels and any other accomodation they have booked in Scotland.
Easy Jet as an example have no designated aircraft to run between destination routes. Their entire fleet of aircraft is liquid. They are a great airline, as long as their aircraft are delayed or pulled out of service. Then they are plugging holes and discovering other aircraft to fill slots.
British Airways on the other hand, will have spare aircraft at Heathrow but in the eventuality of bad weather that grounds aircraft. It inconsequential what airline you are booked on because everything is grounded and delays don't just last until the weather clears.
Yes, you will be compensated after a significant wait but that's not the end of the saga.
Your baggage might be cleared at customs on your arrival into the UK.
The business lounges will be full and the general public will have taken all the public seating or be taking up all the seating in bars and restaurants.
Hopefully your landing and subsequent move onto an internal flight is seamless, which occurs most of the time but on occasion the wheels come off the wagon and we are here to help you.
European flights pretty much all fly into Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Long haul flights tend to be Glasgow and Edinburgh but also into Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle airports.
Scotland has a population of less than 5 million. The total number of tourists flying in for a week or longer exceeds the entire country population.
As you can imagine, it gets really busy and any interruptions create delays.
We are used to this. If we were to take Edinburgh as an example. We park outside the airport and watch your flight landing. It could actually be early. We ask our customers to make their way to the fast pick up point and then phone us on the mobile number you have.
Your driver is literally 3 minutes away. The driver will arrive where you are located and we will be loaded and out of the airport en route to your destination in less than 5 minutes.
We do this because the fast pick up charges £1 per minute after 5 minutes and we don't want to charge you for 45 minutes of waiting time, when we know it takes between 35 to 50 minutes to clear the airport building and the short walk to the pick up point with a baggage trolley.
The driver will inform you of the colour and make of the car. The fast pick up area is small. It's literally impossible to miss your booked vehicle. Normally, this is a very smooth operation and everyone is relaxed and happy and it's not problematic.
The pricing of the fast pick up is to avoid vehicles turning up 45 minutes early to collect passengers and for there to be gridlock in the fast track pick up point.
It's not just to take advantage of passengers. It keeps traffic flowing and our method of customer pick up is time tested and works really well.
Hope to hear from you.
